Due to the coronavirus outbreak, how you contact us will be different at the moment. This is to limit face-to-face contact whenever possible and help stop the spread of coronavirus.

Your GP practice is open and if you need to see a GP, please telephone us on 01702 339865. Appointments to see the GP are by invitation only following a telephone triage consultation. You can also call NHS 111. Please do not come to the Surgery unless you have an appointment. If you are asked to come to the Surgery for a face-to-face appointment, please remember to wear a face covering. Thank you.

We are upgrading to the next phase of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) which will mean that almost all our prescriptions will be processed electronically from 15th July 2020. Electronic prescriptions help save the NHS money. You will receive your prescriptions in the same way as you do now. Read more about EPS on the NHS website.

From Monday 15th June 2020, patients who are attending the surgery will require to wear a face mask. We would ask that you ensure you have your own mask before entering the surgery, as we are unable to provide face masks to our patients 

Local NHS changes to how we prescribe over the counter medications for short term illness and minor ailments: please ask your local pharmacist before making an appointment; buy over-the-counter medicines for minor problems and don't forget you can call NHS 111 for health advice 24 hours a day.

We have a new Patient Participation Group area in the waiting room. Please have a look at the information and fill in the form if you would like to join the group or you can submit the website form or speak to reception to show your interest the PPG. You will recieve details about meetings, talks and other news from your PPG.

To use Electronic Prescribing (EPS), you need to nominate your chosen Pharmacy to allow us to send your prescriptions electronically. You can nominate your pharmacy to us or via the pharmacy of your choice. Please speak to your local Pharmacist or speak to Reception.

Easter is just around the corner and the Practice will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday.  Please ensure you have enough medication to last you through the bank holiday period by making your repeat requests in advance

Summary Care Record

There is a new Central NHS Computer System called the Summary Care Record (SCR). It is an electronic record which contains information about the medicines you take, allergies you suffer from and any bad reactions to medicines you have had.

 

Why do I need a Summary Care Record?

Storing information in one place makes it easier for healthcare staff to treat you in an emergency, or when your GP practice is closed.

This information could make a difference to how a doctor decides to care for you, for example which medicines they choose to prescribe for you.

Who can see it?

Only healthcare staff involved in your care can see your Summary Care Record. 

 

How do I know if I have one?

Over half of the population of England now have a Summary Care Record. You can find out whether Summary Care Records have come to your area by looking at our interactive map or by asking your GP

Do I have to have one?

No, it is not compulsory. If you choose to opt out of the scheme, then you will need to complete a form and bring it along to the surgery. You can use the form at the foot of this page.
